Norfolk Southern appoints three PSR leaders to address operational excellence

On Wednesday, Norfolk Southern Corporation announced the appointment of three industry leaders with experience in Precision Scheduled Railroading (PSR) to head up its transportation team.

According to the railroad Tim Livingston, Rodney Moore and Dewayne Swindall would join the company and report to COO John Orr. Officials said the new leadership structure would bolster accelerated operational improvements throughout the company. The changes will also put leaders closer to field operations, officials said.

β€œIn the first half of this year, we have made measurable progress on safety and productivity,” Orr said. β€œI am pleased to bring together Tim, Rodney, and Dewayne as the right leaders to help us maintain meaningful momentum and make our progress sustainable. Their roles are crucial in our journey to be the gold standard of safety and execute our operational plan with excellence while being intentional about fostering a strong culture.”

Livingston will join the team as senior vice president of transportation and network operations. A career railroader, he brings more than 20 years of experience to the position, starting as a conductor and working his way up through many roles at Kansas City Southern Railway to vice president of operations for Canadian Pacific Kansas City.
