Healthy Happy Kids accepting new members in Birmingham

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ( WIAT ) — A program geared towards teaching children the importance of healthy eating is accepting new member applications.

Healthy Happy Kids (HHK) addresses childhood obesity through an eight-week program of after-school activities where children learn how to make simple and healthy snacks and participate in exercise activities.

Alabama drivers frustrated by rising car insurance rates

HHK is sponsored by the UAB Minority Health & Health Equity Research Center (MHERC) Young Professionals Board, which is accepting new members. The program has reached over 2,300 students across 24 Birmingham schools.
