Dry Sunday, Summer steam cranks up this week

Sunday: Hot and dry weather rolls along as we wrap up the weekend. Highs reach the low and middle 90s under plenty of sunshine.

Next Week: The heat will crank up significantly for the upcoming week. In fact, we’re expecting some of the hottest weather so far this Summer. Highs peak in the upper 90s to near 100 by midweek, which is a good 8 to 10 degrees above average for late August/early September.

Fortunately, the humidity will remain in check, holding afternoon heat index values in the 100 to 105 degree range. Bottom line, while this will be the hottest weather of the Summer temperature-wise, it will not feel quite as oppressive compared to some of the stretches we’ve had over the past couple months.

The heat backs down slightly by the end of this week and into the weekend along with the opportunity for passing afternoon storms.
