BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — The Birmingham Police Department announced a fifth arrest in a shooting that left a young woman dead last week.
Public information officer Truman Fitzgerald stated a juvenile male was arrested in connection to the Monarch Ridge Apartments shooting. No further information, including what he was charged with, was released.

The shooting took place on Aug. 20, leaving 21-year-old Asia Poole dead and a man injured. The arrests of three suspects were announced Friday . A fourth suspect was taken into custody Tuesday.
