First Alert Weather: Drier, cooler conditions this weekend

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) – Good morning and happy Saturday! Get ready for fall-like weather this weekend. It remains mild this morning with temperatures in the mid to upper 60s. Temperatures are a little cooler in parts of northwest Alabama this morning with temperatures in the low to mid 60s. I want to give everyone a first alert for the potential to see patchy fog this morning before 9 a.m. CDT. Fog has developed in parts of Tuscaloosa County and into east Alabama. Visibility could be reduced to a half mile or less. It still remains a little muggy outside, but we are expecting the muggy air to move out this afternoon as a cold front moves into north and central Alabama. First Alert AccuTrack Radar is showing a few showers off to our southeast that will move into southeast Alabama and Georgia this morning. We are starting the day with some cloud cover, but I expect clouds to clear out by this afternoon giving us a partly cloudy to mostly sunny sky. Temperatures this afternoon are forecast to climb into the low to mid 80s. It will be breezy today as dry air moves in from the north at 10-15 mph. We could see gusts up to 20-25 mph. If you have any evening plans, we will likely end up with a mostly clear sky with temperatures cooling into the mid 70s by 7 p.m. CDT.
