First Alert Weather: Summerlike temperatures this weekend

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) – Good morning and happy Saturday! We have a lot of amazing events to attend this weekend, and the good news is that the weather won’t be an issue. The only problem is that it will be very warm for early October. We are starting out the morning with temperatures in the mid 60s. It’s slightly cooler in northwest Alabama thanks to a mostly clear sky. First Alert AccuTrack Satellite and Radar is showing us dry with some cloud cover mainly along and south of I-20/59. We will likely see plenty of sunshine north of I-20 today, but we should remain dry with a mostly sunny to partly cloudy sky. Temperatures will likely end up 5-10 degrees above average with a high near 87°F. Our average high for October 5 is 80°F. If you plan on being outside today, I highly recommend a hat, sunglasses, and don’t forget to apply the sunscreen. Winds today will remain light from the east-northeast at 5-10 mph. If you have any evening plans, we will likely remain dry with a partly cloudy sky. Temperatures are forecast to cool near 80°F at 7 p.m. CDT. Sunset occurs at 6:25 p.m. CDT.
