BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ( WIAT ) — Sidewalk Film Center’s Spooky Scramble Filmmaking Competition will kick off on Oct. 25 with a meeting via Zoom. Filmmakers of all levels of experience are invited to participate in this weekend-long event.
During the competition, participating teams will have 48 hours from Oct. 25 to 27 to write, direct and edit a short film. Any number of people can participate per team.
The Scramble Screening will be held on Oct. 30. This screening will be at the Sidewalk Film Center and Cinema, and it will also be available to screen virtually. Tickets for this screening will be available soon.
Prizes for this competition include a $500 Jury Prize and a $250 Audience Choice Award. Both winners will be added to the programming for the 27th Sidewalk Film Festival.
Attendance at the kickoff meeting is mandatory for participation. A Zoom link will be sent to participants upon registration . Only one member from each team is required to register and attend the meeting. The final day for registration is Oct. 23.
