BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ( WIAT) — In preparation for the holidays, multiple businesses and organizations are hosting markets and festivals where visitors can get a head start on their holiday shopping.
Here’s a list of upcoming holiday markets in the Central Alabama area:
- Christmas Village Festival — Nov. 6- 10.
- Sunday is the last day to visit this event at the BJCC. One-day tickets cost $15 for adults and $5 for children. This event features over 700 booths to shop from.
- Birmingham Fall Craft and Vendor Market — Nov. 9- 10.
- This event at the Riverchase Galleria is open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, and it will be open from 12 to 6 p.m. Sunday. This event is hosted by Hometown Vendor Market.
- Christmas Eat and Shop Expo — Nov. 10
- Located at the Anniston City Meeting Center, this event will include over 60 shopping vendors. Food trucks will be available throughout the events, and children can get their pictures taken with Santa and the Grinch.
- Retail Trail — Nov. 14.
- This event in downtown Tuscaloosa will include holiday-themed items, discounts, live music, a giveaway and more.
- Magical Marketplace — Nov. 14- 15
- Visitors can get an early look at this Vestavia Hills Methodist Church event from 5 to 7 p.m. on Nov. 14. This early access costs $5, and all proceeds benefit Unless U. The event will be open to the general public from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Nov. 15.
- Deck the Heights — Nov. 16
- This event in the Cahaba Heights Business District will last from 2 to 7 p.m. It will feature arts and crafts, holiday shopping, live music, a train, Santa and more. Pop-up shops will start opening up in The Heights Village at 10 a.m.
- Candy Cane Lane Holiday Market — Nov. 16
- This indoor event hosted by the Hueytown Arts Council will take place from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 1348 Hueytown Road.
- Fall Festival Holiday Market — Nov. 16
- This event at Hunter’s Acres in Wilsonville will include a petting zoo, pony rides, kids’ activities and a local vendors market. Admission costs $10 for adults and $5 for children.
- HoliGay Brunch Bazaar — Nov. 16
- This event at Cahaba Brewing Company is hosted by Central Alabama Pride. This event will have a market featuring LGBTQ+ artists and allied businesses. The event will include live music, and foot trucks will be available throughout the day.
- Christman Open House — Nov. 16
- This event at Gardendale Pickers will last from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. It will include door prizes and sales at various booths.
- A Southern Christmas Bazaar — Nov. 16
- This event will be open at the Pelham Civic Complex from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. It will feature artisans and merchants from across the southeastern United States.
- Christmas Market at Westwood — Nov. 16
- The Westwood Baptist Women’s Ministry will host this market at Westwood Baptist Church in Alabaster. Admission to this event is one item donated to the Alabama Baptist Children’s Home’s Family Care Program.
- Ladies Night Out Christmas Market –Nov. 18
- Located in the Trussville Entertainment District, this event will include early Black Friday discounts, gift certificates and more.
- CahaBAZAAR Holiday Market — Dec. 7
- This event at Cahaba Brewing Company will last from 12 to 5 p.m. This event will feature over 150 local artists, live music and food trucks. It will also feature the Children’s Entrepreneur Market, which will include over 50 children entrepreneurs.
