An inside look at the new Cooper Green Mercy Health Facility ahead of grand opening

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ( WIAT ) — The new Cooper Green Mercy Health facility is set to open its doors on December 16.

According to Cooper Green Mercy Health CEO David Randall, the new 211,000 square feet, five story building serves as an upgrade from the old Cooper Green Mercy Health building.

“This marks another milestone for us,” said Randall. “It’s been from conception to design, to actually a realization.”

Randall said the need for the new space is long overdue, as their goal has always been to provide the best healthcare affordably.

“A lot of inefficiencies, cost deferred maintenance was involved and if you go over there, you’ll see the difference. The layout was not really clinic friendly. It wasn’t patient friendly and so with the new footprint and the new home that we have much more geared towards and designed towards patient care itself,” said Randall.

That patient geared design includes state of the art medical care, full-service primary and specialty care clinics along with an urgent care clinic, enhancements to the in-house pharmacy, expanding imaging through additional MRI screening, expanding dental and eye care and adding a physical therapy space, all while prioritizing affordable healthcare to patients with or without insurance.
