First Alert Weather: Unseasonably warm temperatures to start the week

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) – Happy Sunday! I highly recommend grabbing a jacket before you walk out the door this morning. Temperatures are generally in the low to mid 40s with a few spots in the upper 30s in parts of Etowah and Cherokee counties. We are monitoring the potential for patchy fog near bodies of water this morning. Fog is most likely in parts of St. Clair and Etowah counties along the Coosa River. Any fog that develops should dissipate by 8 a.m. CST. High pressure is moving off to our east allowing us to see southerly winds today at 5-10 mph. Get ready for a beautiful afternoon with slightly warmer temperatures. Highs will likely climb into the low to mid 70s with a partly cloudy sky. The sky could appear cloudy this afternoon, but the clouds remain thin so we should enjoy some filtered sunshine. If you want to knock some yardwork out of the way, the weather is looking great for today and for most of tomorrow. If you have any evening plans, we will remain dry with temperatures.
