First Alert Weather: Sunny and cool Sunday afternoon

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) – Good morning and happy Sunday! The big story this morning is the widespread freeze across North and Central Alabama. Temperatures are starting out in the mid 20s. The good news is that the wind chill is not a factor thanks to a light wind. First Alert AccuTrack Satellite and Radar is showing us clear across the Southeast. We are looking at a sunny afternoon. High temperatures are forecast to warm into the upper 40s and lower 50s. The wind won’t be as breezy today. We will likely see east-northeast winds at 5-10 mph. If you have any evening plans, you’ll want to hold on to the coat. Temperatures will likely cool into the upper 30s by 7 p.m. CST. Freezing temperatures will be possible tonight with lows dropping into the upper 20s and lower 30s.
