Actor Hudson Joseph Meek was laid to rest on Saturday, December 28, one week after he suddenly died at age 16.
Meek’s loved ones reconvened at the Dawson Memorial Baptist Church in Homewood, Alabama, to honor his memory, according to an Instagram live stream of the Celebration of Life service.
Meek, best known for acting roles in 2017’s Baby Driver and recent episodes of MacGyver and Found , died on December 21 . He sustained injuries from blunt force trauma earlier that week after falling from a moving vehicle.
“Our hearts are broken to share that Hudson Meek went home to be with Jesus tonight,” a statement shared via Meek’s Instagram page read. “His 16 years on this earth were far too short, but he accomplished so much and significantly impacted everyone he met.”

Meek is survived by his parents, Lani and Derek , and his older brother, Tucker .
