BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBMA) – A Birmingham police officer and K-9 were shot at early New Year’s Day. The Birmingham Police Department said around 2:20 a.m. an officer and police K-9 were were patrolling near Center Street at Graymont Avenue West as part of the departments New Year’s Eve operation.
