A heartfelt farewell as Birmingham honors Officer Marlon Moore’s contributions and legacy

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — The Birmingham community gathered in solemn remembrance as Officer Marlon Moore was laid to rest following a tragic motorcycle crash last week. The 33-year-old officer, who died while off duty on I-59 North, was honored by fellow officers, family, and friends who reflected on his dedication and character.

Officer Moore, a former U.S. Marine who joined the Birmingham Police Department in 2019, was remembered for his selflessness and service. Birmingham Police Chief Michael Pickett delivered a speech on behalf of Mayor Randall Woodfin, sharing a proclamation made by the city to honor Moore’s contributions.
