BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — Average gasoline prices in Birmingham have increased by 8.1 cents per gallon over the past week, reaching an average of $2.84 per gallon, according to GasBuddy’s survey of 550 stations in the area. This marks a 16.2-cent increase from a month ago, though prices remain 24.8 cents lower than the same time last year.
The national average price of gasoline has also risen, climbing 9.7 cents per gallon in the last week to an average of $3.18 per gallon. This figure is unchanged from a month ago and is 23.3 cents lower than a year ago, based on GasBuddy data compiled from over 11 million weekly price reports covering more than 150,000 gas stations nationwide.
In Birmingham, the cheapest station was priced at $2.56 per gallon yesterday, while the most expensive was $3.03 per gallon, a difference of 47 cents. Across Alabama, the lowest price recorded was $2.49 per gallon, with the highest at $3.59 per gallon, a difference of $1.10 per gallon…
