BIRMINGHAM — More than 8,500 first responders, including 15 Huntsville police officers, are set to compete this week in the 2025 World Police & Fire Games in Birmingham.
The competition, which features public safety athletes from more than 70 countries, kicked off Friday with a high-energy opening ceremony at Legacy Arena located within the Birmingham Jefferson Convention Complex.
Hosted every two years, the World Police & Fire Games bring together active and retired law enforcement, firefighters, corrections officers and other first responders for a week of intense competition across more than 60 sports.
