Man charged with manslaughter in deadly Bessemer train collision

BESSEMER, Ala. — A man has been charged with manslaughter in connection with a deadly train collision in 2024.

According to court documents, 21-year-old Ladonald Dewayne Phillips Jr. is accused of unlawfully causing the death of Claudia Mae Dreffs in a reckless and wanton manner.
