Birmingham police make 25 arrests in weekly crime crackdown

BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBMA) — The Birmingham Police Department’s Special Operations Bureau has reported a successful week in its ongoing efforts to enhance public safety. From July 7 to July 13, 2025, the department’s Special Enforcement Division made 25 arrests as part of its crime reduction initiative.

The arrests included 15 felony charges and 10 misdemeanors. Officers also seized eight firearms, conducted 82 traffic stops, and issued 150 citations, with 58 for speeding. Additionally, four vehicles were impounded, and officers made 293 citizen contacts and assisted in 34 patrols.

The division also reported the seizure of various narcotics, including 112 grams of cocaine, 43,697.36 grams of marijuana, and 19,749 grams of marijuana liquid.
