BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — Birmingham police announced the arrest of a 44-year-old man was arrested in connection to an armed robbery.
Arthur Shackleford, 44, of Birmingham, was charged with first-degree robbery. He was already in custody of the Jefferson County Jail on an unrelated charge. He’s being held with no bond for the robbery charge.
4 arrested after weekend shooting at Woodlawn High School
Officers say they arrived to the intersection of 3rd Avenue North and Richard Arrington Jr. Blvd on reports of a robbery on July 4. Upon arrival, officers spoke with the victim who informed them he was sitting inside his vehicle when an unknown male approached him, brandished a firearm, and demanded that the victim give him the keys and his wallet.
After an unsuccessful attempt to operate the vehicle, the suspect left the location on foot in an unknown direction. Officers were able to gather valuable suspect information that contributed to the successful identification of the suspect…
