Birmingham-Jefferson County Transit Authority MAX Transit awarded $25 million grant from Department of Transportation

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) – The Birmingham-Jefferson County Transit Authority (BJCTA) MAX Transit has been awarded a $25 million grant from the United States Department of Transportation so they can construct a new maintenance and operations facility.

The BJCTA says that this grant will be pivotal in driving forward on the next level of improving their transit. They say this will include the development of an innovative, modern operations and maintenance facility for services in Birmingham-Jefferson County.
