Back-to-school immunization clinic underway in Jefferson County

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — The Jefferson County Department of Health’s back-to-school immunization clinic is underway. It is an opportunity for children to receive required vaccinations before their first day of school.

The clinic is at the Central Health Center. It will be held from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekdays through Aug. 13. A special Saturday clinic is set for 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 2. Health officials said the clinic is open to students of all ages, no matter if they are entering preschool or college.

“We want every child in Jefferson County to start school healthy and protected,” said Jefferson County Deputy Health Officer Dr. Wesley Willeford in a statement. “This clinic provides families with a convenient and reliable way to meet school health requirements.”
