BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — UAB Hospital has been named the No. 1 hospital in both Alabama and the Birmingham metro area for 2025-2026, according to the latest U.S. News & World Report Best Hospitals rankings released Tuesday.
The rankings highlight UAB’s leadership in health care, with the hospital earning national recognition in five adult specialties. Rheumatology led the way at No. 11, followed by ear, nose and throat at No. 14. Obstetrics and gynecology ranked No. 28, neurology and neurosurgery came in at No. 42, and geriatrics rounded out the list at No. 49.
