BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — UAB celebrated the opening of its new rehabilitation pavilion Monday.
The pavilion is on Seventh Avenue South. The state-of-the-art in-patient facility has 78 rooms to treat neurological injuries.
“Given your injury, this is the best place you can be,” said Dr. Robert Brunner, who is the medical director of the UAB Spain Rehabilitation Center. “I mean, we thought about every aspect of the recovery process from just the caretakers, the technology, and this is where you can participate in that care. All your needs will be met. We have a community. We have outdoor spaces, so we’re going to give you the best opportunity to get better.”
