BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) – If you have a cell phone, you’ve probably received a text message claiming you owe money for some kind of traffic ticket or violation.
But it’s a scam.
Carl Bates with the Better Business Bureau said they have seen several examples of the traffic ticket scam. The text claims you have an outstanding traffic ticket, and if you don’t pay by the day you receive it, your license and car registration will be suspended starting the next day…
