BESSEMER, Ala. (WIAT) — An inmate at William Donaldson Correctional Facility was found dead Tuesday afternoon.
Randy Matkins, 68, was serving a life sentence for a murder conviction out of Madison County. Medical staff found him unresponsive in the prison infirmary, where he was being treated for a significant natural disease around 12:10 p.m., according to the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office.
