BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — A 60-year-old inmate at the Jefferson County Jail was found unresponsive by her cellmates on the morning of August 27, 2025. The inmate, identified as Zingy Denise Gamble, was pronounced dead at the jail shortly after being discovered.
