Guy Fieri, a restauranteur and TV personality best known for his show “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives” on the Food Network as well as the many restaurants he runs across the country, has a new franchise, Chicken Guy!, that will open at the Walmart Supercenter in Gardendale, marking the first Alabama location for the chicken chain chain.
“With hand-breaded tenders, house-made sauces, loaded sandwiches, fries, and shakes — it’s a one-way ticket to Flavortown,” a press release from the company stated.
While Fieri’s on-air antics and celebration of simple, deep-fried food have made him a popular presence, his seeming lack of sophistication or refinement have also been the target of scorn in the culinary community.
