VESTAVIA HILLS, Ala. (WIAT) — The Vestavia Hills Police Department reported that a pursuit in the area of Highway 31 near Kentucky Avenue resulted in a crash Thursday night.
Vestavia Hills police made a post on Facebook Thursday encouraging people to avoid the area while police searched for a suspect. They later announced that the road was back open.
According to Vestavia Hills Police Captain Mike Keller, the suspect fled after the crash. Keller said the suspect was not located.
