Birmingham woman says bullet tore through her car on Interstate 20/59, shooter still at large

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) – A Birmingham woman is thanking God she’s alive after a bullet ripped into her car on Interstate 20/59 early Friday, Sept. 12, leaving a hole where her grandchild’s car seat usually sits.

She has a warning for other drivers as investigators search for the shooter.

Katina Williams, who was driving back to Birmingham from Tuscaloosa just after midnight, said she first noticed a white four-door Chevrolet Silverado with chrome trim closing in behind her near mile marker 97. She moved over to let the truck pass, she said, but the vehicle then slowed to match her speed.
