Birmingham VA unveils permanent Missing Man Table display on POW/MIA Recognition Day

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — The Birmingham VA Health Care System marked National POW/MIA Recognition Day on Friday with the unveiling of a new permanent display dedicated to honoring Prisoners of War and America’s Missing in Action.

The display, located on the ground floor of the main facility, was made possible by a donation from the Kelly Ingram VFW Post 668, which provided a complete Missing Man Table set, and the craftsmanship of the facility’s engineering team.

“This [Missing Man Table] display is a permanent reminder to the thousands of Veterans, visitors, and employees who enter this facility each year that freedom comes with a cost,” said Dr. Cynthia Cleveland, Acting Health System Director. “We should never forget those who were held prisoner of war and those who have not returned home.”…
