Galleria’s proposed $240 million redevelopment would demolish retail anchors to build apartments, city center

A six-month study of Hoover’s Riverchase Galleria recommends a two-phase, roughly $240 million redevelopment of the 39-year-old shopping mall into a mixed-use development with apartments, a performing arts center and green space.

The Hoover City Council Monday night heard a presentation of the 147-page study, which the city commissioned six months ago.
