JEFFERSON COUNTY, Ala. (WBRC) – Cities across Jefferson County, including Trussville and Birmingham, are cracking down on curfew and truancy violations. Local leaders are warning parents that they could face legal consequences if their children are caught breaking the law.
Jefferson County District Attorney Danny Carr says his office is prepared to enforce laws that hold parents responsible when minors are found out past curfew or skipping school.
“There is parent accountability in the law, and those laws will be enforced,” Carr said. “Whether it’s truancy from school — your kids should be in school — or breaking curfew, your kids being out and you not knowing where they are.”…
