CALERA – The suspect arrested by the Calera Police Department for driving recklessly, stealing a car and resisting arrest, among other charges, has been identified.
Nikolay Andreevich Belous, age 28 of Montevallo, was arrested for his alleged actions. He was booked into the Shelby County Jail on Sept. 28 on a total bond of $3,300 on the following charges:
- Theft of property in the first degree – no bond
- Leaving the scene of an accident – misdemeanor – $1,000 bond
- Driving under the influence – misdemeanor – $1,000 bond
- Attempting to elude, 20 miles per hour over – no bond
- Improper lane change – $300 bond
- Driving with a suspended, revoked or cancelled license – $500 bond
- Resisting arrest – $500 bond
According to a post on the department’s official Facebook page, Calera Dispatch received multiple calls from citizens regarding a vehicle driving recklessly and crossing into oncoming traffic just before 10:00 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 28…
