I was on top of the world when I won my 4th-grade spelling bee and moved on to compete with the rest of my school. The joy was short-lived, as I got out in the first round of the schoolwide competition.
The good news: On Thursday, October 23, an adult spelling bee is coming to Birmingham, and us elementary school champs can relive the glory days.

Know before you go: Sip N’ Spell
- What: 2nd annual Sip N’ Spell: An adult spelling bee presented by Rotaract Club of Birmingham
- Who: Anyone looking for friendly competition or an evening out benefitting local students
- When: Thursday, October 23 | Doors open at 5:30PM, competition starts at 6PM
