Birmingham police make 41 arrests in week-long crime crackdown

The Birmingham Police Department’s Special Operations Bureau has reported significant enforcement activity during the week of Sept. 29 to Oct. 5, 2025, as part of its ongoing efforts to enhance public safety. The Special Enforcement Division made 41 arrests, including 30 felony and 11 misdemeanor arrests, in its commitment to reducing crime and improving the quality of life in Birmingham.

In addition to the arrests, officers seized 11 firearms, three of which were stolen and one altered. The division conducted 100 traffic stops, issued 116 citations, and impounded nine vehicles. Despite the high number of citations, none were for speeding, and no stolen vehicles were recovered.

The department also reported 245 citizen contacts and assisted in 34 patrols. Officers addressed two noise ordinance violations and seized $1,381 in currency. Narcotics confiscated included 3.25 grams of cocaine, 17.25 grams of crack cocaine, 0.20 grams of crystal methamphetamine, 29 hydrocodone pills, 816.14 grams of marijuana, four MDMA pills, eight oxycodone pills, and 618 grams of promethazine…
