New details uncovered in search for suspect who killed Gardendale man on I-65 in 2024

New details have emerged in the search for suspects connected to the death of 55-year-old Jonathan Lenair Bradberry, of Gardendale.

Crime Stoppers Executive Director Bob Copus said Bradberry was leaving an event on July 10, 2024, traveling on I-65 North, near 32nd Avenue in Birmingham, when shots were fired into his vehicle. Nearby construction workers heard those shots, before Bradberry crashed.

Birmingham Police responded to the single-vehicle crash just before 11 p.m. that night. When officers arrived, they discovered the vehicle crashed into the median. Bradberry was found shot in the driver’s seat. He was taken to UAB Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead…
