Alabama Opportunity Summit to explore future of education

More than 400 education advocates, policymakers, school leaders, teachers, students, parents and community stakeholders from across Alabama will gather on Friday, Oct. 17, at Birmingham’s Red Mountain Theater to discuss the evolving educational landscape in the state. The Alabama Opportunity Summit, co-hosted by A+ Education Partnership and Teach For America Alabama, is set to be the premier gathering of educational champions in the state.

Attendees will hear from nationally renowned speakers and experts, along with statewide leaders, on opportunities to reimagine and advocate for better outcomes for students. Mark Dixon, president of A+ Education Partnership, said, “The Alabama Opportunity Summit is a unique chance for us to come together and reimagine what’s possible for education in our state.”

The summit will feature the inaugural “Caroline Novak Champion for Children” Award, honoring A+ Education Partnership’s founding president. This year’s recipients, Sen. Arthur Orr and Rep.
