BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — A shooting that left a Bessemer man dead has been ruled justifiable, according to the Birmingham Police Department.
The incident occurred at shortly before noon on Thursday, Oct. 16. Officers responded to a report of a person shot in the 5400 block of Jefferson Avenue Southwest. Upon arrival, they found an adult male suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was identified as Romeo Underwood, 26, of Bessemer. Underwood was taken to UAB Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.
According to the BPD, case information was presented to the Jefferson County District Attorney’s Office for review. The District Attorney’s Office ruled the actions as justifiable. The investigation has been reclassified as a justified death investigation…
