ALDOT says shooting at ‘The Pit’ could lead to multiple criminal charges

A deadly shooting at “The Pit,” a location in North Jefferson County allegedly known for hosting parties, has left one person dead and three others injured.

The Alabama Department of Transportation says the property, owned by ALDOT for nearly a decade, has been marked with “No Trespassing” signs, concrete barriers, and a fence for several years. Despite these measures, locals claim the area has been used for off-roading and late-night gatherings.
