Birmingham police make 48 arrests in week-long crime crackdown

The Birmingham Police Department’s Special Operations Bureau has reported a significant enforcement effort during the week of Oct. 20-26, 2025, resulting in 48 arrests. The Special Enforcement Division’s operations are part of an ongoing commitment to enhance public safety and improve the quality of life in Birmingham.

Of the 48 arrests, 31 were felony charges, while 17 were misdemeanors. The division also seized 28 firearms, including one stolen and two altered weapons. Officers conducted 42 traffic stops and issued 37 citations, although none were for speeding. Additionally, three vehicles were impounded.
