Outback Steakhouse is closing several locations in multiple states as part of an “ongoing turnaround plan,” new reports reveal.
The popular casual dining chain first popped up in Tampa, Florida, in 1988, and in the 37 years since, it’s grown to operate more than 670 stores under the Bloomin’ Brands umbrella (which also includes familiar names like Carrabba’s Italian Grill, Bonefish Grill and Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar).
But just as October 2025 comes to a close–and almost two years after it was revealed that Bloomin’ Brands would be shutting down over 40 locations–Parade has learned that over half a dozen Outback restaurants have shuttered.
