Birmingham veterans nonprofit founder says grant consultant took $4,100, delivered nothing

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) -A Birmingham veteran who wanted to teach upholstery skills to fellow service members says a grant consulting business took his money and failed to deliver promised services, leaving his nonprofit dreams in limbo.

Bernard Paige says he paid Each One Reach One consulting $4,100 to file articles of incorporation and submit at least 20 grant applications for his nonprofit Stitch Together Alliance. Paige provided receipts and contracts with Each One Reach One, but says the consultant only filed incorporation papers but submitted zero grant applications.
