A Birmingham restaurant owner is calling for change after repeated instances of crime and vandalism have taken a toll on her business. Raquel Lenzie, owner of SLIDE Cafe in the Five Points South neighborhood, expressed frustration over the financial burden caused by broken windows and doors, which she says is impacting both her business and customer safety.
“The glass of course becomes a bigger situation,” Lenzie said. “The fights, the shootings, obviously those are bigger things that cost a lot of money.”
