BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — Beginning Monday, Nov. 3, the City of Birmingham joined Christian Service Mission in collecting food for local food banks as thousands of families face a temporary disruption in SNAP benefits due to the federal government.
The food drive runs Monday through Thursday from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Christian Service Mission, located at 3600 Third Avenue South. Members of the public are encouraged to donate non-perishable food items or monetary gifts to help feed families in need.
