JEFFERSON COUNTY, Ala. — A teenager accused of driving recklessly and under the influence in a crash that killed two of his friends last summer was granted bond Tuesday by a Jefferson County judge.
Kamden Willis, 19, faces two counts of reckless murder after a single-vehicle crash on Mount Olive Road in July 2025 left Treylen Floyd and Tristan Cox dead, and six others injured.
Court testimony painted a vivid picture of the crash. Detective Ralph Goodwin of the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office said the truck was traveling 88 miles per hour on a 45-mile-per-hour road just seconds before it crashed around 2:55 a.m. Eight people were packed into the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado, with Willis driving, a passenger beside him sitting on the center console, one teen in the front passenger’s lap, and four others seated across the back seats…
