UAB Veterans Day 5K raises over $20,000 for student veterans

The third annual Veterans Day 5K, held on Nov. 8 and hosted by the University of Alabama at Birmingham’s Veterans Services, has successfully raised more than $20,000 to support student veterans and their dependents. This community event, presented by VIVA Health, aims to honor those who have served and support military-connected students with essentials like housing, books, and emergency expenses.

Since its inception in 2023, the race has distributed over $9,000 in direct relief to students in need. The event welcomed runners, walkers, ruckers, strollers, and wheelchair racers, celebrating the 107th anniversary of Armistice Day.
