Former deputy charged with vehicular homicide was going 74 mph in 45 zone

A former Escambia County Sheriff’s deputy has been charged with two counts of vehicular homicide in connection with a fatal collision that killed two people in a crosswalk last July.

The Florida Highway Patrol announced Nov. 21 it had completed its investigation into the crash and was issuing the vehicular homicide warrants for Greg Nesmith, who they said is cooperating with the investigation.
