The Birmingham Police Department is investigating an officer-involved shooting that occurred on Friday, Nov. 28, in the 800 block of 45th Street North.
At about 11:25 p.m., officers responded to a report of multiple gunshots detected by Shot Spotter in the 900 block of 46th Street North. Upon arrival, officers found a crowd arguing in the 800 block of 45th Street North. A crowd member informed an officer that a man was armed with a gun. During the encounter, the officer shot the man.
