Gasoline prices in Birmingham have decreased by 6 cents per gallon over the past week, with the average now standing at $2.61 per gallon, according to a GasBuddy survey of 550 stations in the area. This marks a 4.5-cent drop from a month ago and a 6.2-cent decrease compared to the same time last year. The national average price of diesel has also seen a decline, dropping 5.5 cents to $3.722 per gallon.
GasBuddy reports that the cheapest station in Birmingham was priced at $2.37 per gallon yesterday, while the most expensive was $2.89 per gallon, a 52-cent difference. Across Alabama, the lowest price recorded yesterday was $2.29 per gallon, with the highest at $3.49 per gallon, a $1.20 difference.
