The city of Birmingham and One Roof, a homeless relief organization, unveiled their plan to tackle homelessness on Monday.
On Dec. 1, community members, advocates and local government shared solutions and support at the first-ever “State of Homelessness: Redefining Community” symposium. Organizers provided information about the city’s current state of homelessness and laid out a plan to reduce long-term unsheltered homelessness by 40% in just one year.
